Daniel Murray qualified in 1986 from U.C.D. After gaining experience in small and large animal practice in the UK and Ireland he returned to his hometown to establish Moate Pet Clinic in 1995.
As principal of the practice he knows how important it is to keep abreast of all the latest developments and techniques in veterinary medicine and surgery and has recently completed a post graduate certificate. He is married to Siobhan and they, their three children and pet dog Henny live adjacent to the clinic in Moate.
Jennifer O’Donovan originally comes from Clonakilty in Cork and graduated from the veterinary college in U.C.D in 2005. She has travelled widely through veterinary, working mainly between Ireland and the UK gaining experience in both mixed practices and dedicated small animal hospitals.
She has recently settled in Moate having worked here previously in a locum position. Jennifer is also registered with the E.S.V.P.S after completing their two year small animal surgery course and examinations in the UK. She comes with her faithful companion, Molly, an elderly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Kate Buckley completed her nursing degree in Athlone Institute of Technology in 2009 and registered with the Veterinary Council of Ireland. The following Spring Kate joined Moate Pet Clinic taking on the role of veterinary nurse.
Since then she has dedicated herself to the nursing and anaesthetic care of our in patients and is on hand daily to answer any pet health questions you may have. Kate is an animal lover and is the owner of a mischievous Golden Retriever called Maya.
Hazel is the longest standing member of staff having joined the practice in 2000. She is the office manager and is the first port of call for both staff and customers alike and is instrumental in organising the day to day running of the practice.
She owns Albert a collie cross who adopted her one Halloween night and has been a valued member of the family ever since. Hazel also owns Sandy a lab cross dog who came into the surgery in need of a good home and quickly stole Hazel’s heart.
Shannon started working for us part time in March 2008. She works in the office & also helps out on the small animal side when extra hands are needed, having gained experience as a lifelong dedicated small animal lover.
Shannon is the busy owner of two cats - Furno, a rescue cat & a Persian cross called Ash. She also has two German Shepherds, Sheba and Zeus who is a gentle giant and a firm favourite of her little boy Conor. She also has a Foot Beagle called Murphy who’d sniff out a treat anywhere.
